Each year, the city of Dublin sponsors this event, which takes over 25 sites in the city center.
During this event, iconic buildings, bridges, and monuments are transformed through light installations, large-scale projections, and immersive interactive experiences.
Over the years, I have contributed to the following projects:
COLLINS BARRACKS - Video Mapping
Video mapping and encoding of content created during a competition. Collins Barracks is one of the largest buildings in Europe to have received an architectural projection of this scale.
GENERAL POST OFFICE - Video Mapping
Creation of a video mapping on the iconic General Post Office monument, using advanced 3D mapping techniques and SMODE auto-calibration on three 4K projectors.
CUSTOM HOUSE - Video Mapping
Creation of an architectural projection on this building. This video projection was done before the implementation of auto-calibration in SMODE, so I had to align the projectors manually using a laser meter. I also used a camera to determine the orientation and optical shift of the projectors.
MERRION SQUARE - Motion design for art installation
Creation of original visual content for a kaleidoscopic installation combining video projection and LEDs controlled via Art-Net.
My PC was configured to output NDI to the LED mapping software, allowing me to work under real conditions. I produced approximately one hour of generative content over two evenings.
GEORGE'S DOCKS - Show control using smode, chataigne and python
Setup and programming of a pre-encoded light show.
The show was programmed on a grandMA3 console by the lighting designer, then recorded on a Madrix Aura and triggered via a SMODE Community server.
This integration was made possible through the development of custom Python scripts within SMODE, ensuring precise control and perfect synchronization between the different systems.
